Services available from Cortlandt Animal Hospital

BEHAVIOR

Wesley Artope is a certified dog trainer and offers consultations for behavioral challenges.

BOARDING

The hospital does provide a boarding service.  Any animal to be boarded must have the proper vaccinations and be flea free.  If your animal is not a patient of Cortlandt Animal Hospital an office visit is required, along with proof of vaccinations prior to admittance.  Charges for boarding are per night, same as surgery.

DENTISTRY

Oral examination and prophy's are done by our trained technician. All extractions and surgeries are done by doctors. The most common disease in small animals older than five years is periodontal disease. Cortlandt Animal Hospital provides a full dental area complete with digital dental radiography. When correlated with case history and clinical examination, radiography is one of the most important diagnostic aids available to the veterinarian. In order to diagnose and create a patient’s dental treatment plan, the complete extent of existing pathology must be known. Radiology is essential in accessing this information.

EMERGENCIES

The hospital phone is answered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
In-hospital emergency care is provided depending upon the doctor's availability.  If the doctor is unavailable, you will be referred to an emergency clinic.

HEALTH CERTIFICATION

US and Internatinal Dr. Berk is USDA certified and can provide National and International health certificates.

LABORATORY

With the proper equipment providing a fully functional laboratory within the hospital, we are able to identify and report diagnoses immediately.

LASER SURGERY

Veterinary laser surgery provides the same benefits to pets that human patients have enjoyed for over thirty years: less pain, less bleeding, less infection, less swelling and discomfort after surgery, and the ability to resume normal activities sooner. The laser therapy offers more effective surgery, less pain and a faster recovery time. When pets recover quickly, they get to go home faster, making owners and veterinarians happy.

LASER THERAPY AND REHAB

Used for any painful condition other than cancer where the animal will benefit from increased healing. >>read more

RADIOGRAPHY

Both dental and routine radiology preformed digitally. Evaluations of Radiographs are available within seconds of taking the images.

SURGERY

From the routine to complicated, we are here for you and your pet. All surgical procedures will be arranged through the doctor, technicians or the receptionists.

ULTRASOUND

Dr. Berk is trained in ultrasonography. All ultrasounds are reviewed by Board Certified Radiologist.

VACCINATIONS

A vaccination program specifically with your animals needs in mind will be recommended for your pet.

VISITING

You are always welcome to inspect our facilities.  However, when your pet is a patient in the hospital, visiting may cause excitement, disappointment and sometime affect your pet's recovery in an adverse way.  If your pet will be in the hospital for a prolonged period of time, or if the doctor feels a visit is beneficial, the doctor will be happy to arrange it.
